Gorge Soccer Club and Prospect Lake Soccer Club are partnering up to offer a new and exciting Striker/ Goalie program. The program will run for eight weeks on Friday nights at Glanford field starting Friday, September 30, 2022
- 5:15-6:15 pm – U9-U11 age groups
- 6:15-7:15 pm : U12-U14 age groups
- 7:15-8:15 pm: U15-U18 age groups
The striker program is a fun and challenging program designed to focus on players’ shooting technique. Marco Bustos and Josh Heard from Pacific FC, will be out with the players providing feedback and demonstrating different ways to strike the ball. Each week will have a specific shooting technique that we will work on and players will start to become comfortable with these techniques which they can use in front of goal. Shooting is neglected in team sessions and with this program we aim to get players lots of repetition with striking the ball from different angles and match like scenarios. The main focus of the striker program is lots of repetition while maintaining proper technique.
The Goalie Program will have Pacific FC’s Number one Goal keeper Callum Irving. Callum will be working with the goalkeepers and staff coaches to help improve and coach our goalies. The goalies will then finish the session being in goal and while our strikers work on finishing. The sessions will always end like this and it creates a competitive and fun dynamic between the strikers and the goalies.
