Dear PLSC Families and Players,
We hope you’re as excited as we are to get our players back on the field. The plan is still to be back to regular play after September 7. PLSC has seen some changes over the last few months with our technical team, in case you missed it, we announced our new technical director, Ryan McCurdy! A couple of months ago, we announced that Ben Hooks would be leaving at the beginning of the season, but we’ll see him on the pitch as a parent.
As many of us view the world and our space a little differently now, so does your soccer club. You’ll hear talk from us about community, communication and engagement. We are not only looking forward to having our players back on the pitch, but welcoming families back to our community. Your Board of Directors is here working for you, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you may have.
With that, here’s what happening:
Registration:
Registration is open and available through PowerUp. Sign in or create an account here: https://plsc.powerupsports.com/
Assessments and Try-outs:
Assessments for our U11 to U13 teams and pooled gold teams for U14 to U18 start next week! The full schedule is located on our website at: https://www.plsc.org/assessment-and-tryout-dates-2021/. You must be registered to attend these!
Should you be unable to make assessments, please reach out to our coordinators to express interest:Girls Coordinator: Jen Majorki, girlscoordinator@plsc.org
Boy Coordinator: Jeffrey Bosdet, boyscoordinator@plsc.org
Practice Schedule and Games:
The practice and game schedule shouldn’t differ from last year too much, but we hope to announce that soon.
Volunteering:
As we start the season, coaches, assistant coaches and team managers will be named, for all others, we have lots to keep you busy too. From organizing team uniforms, opening the concession, various community events, and board positions, we hope to see your smiling faces at the pitch soon too. If you’re interested in helping out sooner rather than later, feel free to reach out to volunteers@plsc.org, we’ve already started planning and would appreciate your support. We’d also invite any ideas for community events and are interested in working collaboratively on projects!
Emails:
We are dedicated to keeping Members in the know and up to date on everything that is going on. If you happen to know of someone who is not receiving these emails (they are sent with a mass mailer so they may be in their junk folder) but regular updates will be now be posted on our website too at https://www.plsc.org/. We hope there is no longer a need to go back to your email as a reminder!
With all of that said, we trust everyone will continue to have an enjoyable and safe summer season and once again, we look forward to seeing our players and their families back at the pitch soon!
Cheers,
Mary
