Parent Code of Conduct

The following “Code of Conduct” outlines the Prospect Lake Soccer Club’s expectations of all parents. Each parent should review these guidelines and abide by them at all times.

  1. I will not give instructions to players, as that is the responsibility of the coach.
  2. I will never question the Referee, or Assistant Referee’s judgment, integrity or honesty.
  3. I will support all efforts to eliminate verbal, physical, and racial abuse from the game of soccer.
  4. If I wish to speak with a coach about any given topic, I will do so in a private and constructive manner. It is advised that I take a 24 hour “cooling off” period if the issue I wish to discuss is of a negative or heated nature.
  5. I will show respect for all players, all coaches, all officials and all spectators at all times.
  6. I will teach my child that doing one’s best is as important as winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game.
  7. I will encourage my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
  8. I will make sure that my child arrives for practices and games at the time designated by the coach, ready to begin.
  9. I will not take part in any form of bullying towards a parent, player, team coach, Referee or club representative. It is understood that bullying in any form, whether in person or electronically (any form of social media), will not be tolerated by PLSC.
  10. I realize that the team can be penalized for my behavior if it is considered inappropriate during a game or practice. I will abide by a request from a Referee or Coach to leave the vicinity of the field.
