PLSC currently has $270,000 earmarked towards the turf replacement. At this AGM, we will motion towards pursuing an interest free loan from the District of Saanich to cover the remainder of the cost of the project.

Attendance and Proxies We encourage members to come and support your club. This is a great time to meet all the Executive members. As a member of the club, you are entitled to vote at the meeting. Voting by proxy is not permitted. Members attending the AGM are eligible to win a complimentary registration for the 2021/22 season.

Volunteering This is your club, and it will only grow with your support and help. If a board position is not what you are looking for, we are always looking for volunteers to help at events, or assist the board. If you cannot attend the AGM but would still like to volunteer and/or take on a board position, please send an email to president@plsc.org.

Official Documents:

The remainder of this post is for the information of Members from an earlier recruitment.

Interested in joining the Board of Directors? Here’s some information on vacant positions and those we’d like to fill. With a turf replacement coming soon, many of these positions help offset the cost.

Our club is a well-oiled machine when it comes to planning soccer, so rest assured, you don’t need to know what off-side is to join, there isn’t a test, and I still don’t get it right. Do you have a friend or two that you could share a position with? Maybe it’s something that your soccer player could help out with? If not, you have the Board behind you.

The Little kickers Coordinator

We try to make this experience for our newest families easy. The Little Kickers Coordinator generally coordinates the t-shirts and socks for teams and communicates with families about practices and any changes.

house Coordinator

Working with our technical team, they would coordinate team placements and uniforms, and games schedules and communicating with parents about schedules. One of our positions that is busier at the beginning of the season getting everything up and running but remains instrumental in ensuring that all of our house teams (U7-U10) are taken care of.

The concession Coordinator

Keeping track of coffee and snacks to ensure we’re stocked for openings on Saturday mornings, or whenever there’s an event.

Sponsorship

This may be a position that you have a bit of interest or background in, but not necessary. With new ways to recognize our sponsors, this would be a great way to support the club on your own time.

Volunteer coordinator

This is a great position for someone organized and loves their phone, device or laptop. It’s really coordinating volunteers for the concession and the store, and receiving volunteer hours from team managers. We’re open to new ways of managing this as well.

Director-at-Large

Not something we talk about too much about because we always have a position available, but sitting as a Director-at-Large is another great option to be a Member of the Board with voting rights, likely in the hopes of taking over a position at some point. This would be a great way to learn what the Registrar or Treasurer does.

All of these positions are a great way to meet and collaborate with members in our soccer community and our community in general. They can be as little or as much as you want them to be and if you have someone to help you, even better, but we have your back!

Current Board of Directors

Some positions are up for re-election this year, which we do at the first Board Meeting following the AGM.

These positions include the following, but if you have an interest in a different area than those listed here, please consider putting your name forward, many board members have been around for awhile and I’m sure would be happy to assist in other areas.

  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Registrar

We hope to see you there! Go Orange!

Meet Your Board: our Community

Meet Your Board: our Community

If we look at TEAM, teams are much more than our kids on the pitch. From our Board of Directors to our team of coaches, managers, coordinators of interlock schedules, those that get us ready for picture day, to the parents that cheer from the sidelines.

Meet Your Board: Registrar

Meet Your Board: Registrar

Already holding the communication position and considering myself a bit of geek, I took the Registrar position to give Colin a break to learn the role of President. Our five executive positions (President, V-P, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar) on the board run in alternating two-year terms so that there is never a large turnover in any given year, Colin had one more year in his term, so I took it over for a year.
