Prospect Lake Soccer Club’s regular season is now open for registration for the 2022/23 season for our U5-U18 programs. All programs are organized by our technical team, directed by our Technical Director, Ryan McCurdy and with a fully opened season along with a turf replacement this summer, it should be an exciting soccer season. Adding to the excitement, other programs for our players and events for our families during the season are also being planned! We appreciate early registration to start planning for the fall, and for you to stay in the know for assessment dates for our full-field teams.
Our regular season starts in September and generally ends in mid-March. Weekday practices are estimated here.
LITTLE KICKERS HOUSE PROGRAM, U5-U6, GIRLS AND BOYS
With practices on Saturday mornings (11 a.m. at Glanford park), this gives our youngest players the opportunity to develop basic movement skills like running, jumping, landing, kicking, throwing, and catching in a fun setting built around informal play and positive reinforcement. The focus here is FUN. Players are placed on Co-ed teams consisting of 6-8 players with 2 volunteer coaches per team and includes instruction from our technical team.
JUNIOR PROGRAM (1), U7-U10 GIRLS AND BOYS
The program allows children to develop their movement ABCs— agility, balance, coordination, and speed—and learn the basics of the game while emphasizing fun, cooperation, and maximum time on the ball. Practices once a week and home games every Saturday morning. Girls teams traditionally practice on Wednesday evenings and Boys teams on Thursday evenings.
JUNIOR PROGRAM (II), U11-U13 GIRLS AND BOYS
This “golden age of learning,” when children become less self-centered and are more able to reflect on their actions and learn from mistakes, provides an optimal window for further development of skills. The focus is on learning by doing, building a larger repertoire of soccer movements and teaching the basic principles of play in a fun and challenging environment. Practices twice a week and games on Saturday mornings, both home and away. Girls teams traditionally practice on Mondays and Wednesdays and Boys teams on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
U14-U15 GIRLS AND BOYS
The onset of the adolescent growth spurt for most kids during this stage is an ideal time for endurance training. Players are also introduced to concepts like mental preparation, goal setting, and coping with winning and losing while learning more advanced soccer skills, including position-specific techniques. Practices twice a week with home and away games on Saturdays. Continued cup play into the Spring and Summer for some teams. Girls teams traditionally practice on Mondays and Wednesdays and Boy teams on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
U16-U18 GIRLS AND BOYS
Players are now working to hone their soccer skills under a variety of competitive conditions in an 11 v 11 game format that mirrors adult play. Along with the continued refinement of advanced techniques, players work to develop their tactical awareness, discipline and mental toughness. Practices twice a week with home and away games on Saturdays. Continued cup play into the Spring and Summer for some teams. Girls teams traditionally practice on Mondays and Wednesdays and Boy teams on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
