Transfers

Parents and players who are considering registering, or re-registering for a team that is outside of their home club boundaries will be considered a transfer, or a grandparented player. Each of the clubs in the Lower Island District have distinct boundaries. Except in a few circumstances, “home club” is the club area in which lies the players home address. The home address is the residence at which the player normally resides with a custodial parent(s) or guardian(s). With very few exceptions a player may have only one home address.

SOME IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER

  • Transfers who are accepted to play with Prospect Lake Soccer Club must understand that when playing in divisions of U11 - U18, teams are restricted to three (3) transfers per team.
  • No club is obligated to register a transfer player.
  • No player may try out or play with a team unless the player is registered either in the current season or for the new season. The current season ends with participation in the last regular league, tournament or cup game.

EXEMPTIONS

  • Any girl who was registered (i.e. not a transfer or release) with the club prior to June 21, 2001 is considered a member of this club unless they chose to return to their home club.
  • The head coach of a team may apply to LISA for an exemption for their child before the beginning of the season.
  • Home stay parents who are members can apply to LISA to for an exemption for any home stay or visiting student.

TRANSFER FEE

There is a $10 Lower Island Soccer Association fee for every transfer.

GRANDPARENTED PLAYERS

Players can apply for grandparent status if they:

  • Played with the Club continuously since the 1992/93 season.
  • Played for the Club before they moved out of the club area, and have not played for any other club since they moved.
  • Have an older sibling who has grandparent status.

The Grandparented Application Form must be completed and submitted to the Club. Once approved by LISA, need not be done again.

RELEASED PLAYERS

The Lower Island Soccer Association (LISA) policy and procedure for releasing a player is as follows:

  • The player must be registered with their home club.
  • If the home club does not have a spot on a team for the player, the club may release the player to LISA who will then place the player with another club.

Points to consider:

  • The release is only for one season.
  • As per LISA rule 702, a release player will not be placed on a Gold team. Exceptions may be granted for U17 and U18 players to allow them to play at the Youth level instead of being forced to play at the Adult level.
  • If a club releases a player from a particular division, for example girls U13 Silver, they cannot receive a released player from another club for that division.
