Cordova Bay/Prospect Lake
Joint Teams Initiative

Contacts

Registration

Being two of the smaller clubs in the Lower Vancouver Island District, we have pooled players for the past years under the following general guidelines:
  1. The formation of one or more additional teams would be facilitated.
  2. The formation of teams at 2 or more different levels will be made possible.
  3. The quality of coaching or number of coaches will increase.

It is our clubs’ intention to continue the pooling of players under the above guidelines.

Selection/Assessment Process

The selection process will be three fold:

  1. Current mini coach player assessment

The present mini team coaches will assess their current players and submit their assessments to Club Technical Director to assist him/her in the larger overall evaluation sessions.

  2. Club Technical Director assessment

The assessments will be structured in a minimum of two sessions. Details of date, time and location will be forwarded to you as soon as they become available. After the initial two sessions the players’ assessments will be forwarded to the selected "Gold" level head coach.

  3. The selected Gold level coach input and evaluation

The current mini team coach assessments and Technical Director assessments will be received by the selected Gold level coach who will then use the information and his/her own evaluations to select a team. This team will normally consist of 20 to 25 players. These players will have further assessments with the Gold coach. The Gold coach must select a final team by June 30.

The remaining players will have further assessments in July or August to determine their placement on Silver or Bronze level teams. It is expected that all teams should be finalized by August 31.

Please note: In order to continue to be evaluated during the off-season all players MUST be registered with their respective clubs. No players can participate in evaluations unless they are registered!

In conclusion, it is felt that joint assessments and evaluations of all players will give more players the opportunity to play at a level that is appropriate to their skill level. The joint teams pooling over the past years has enabled our clubs to keep more of our players playing out of their home clubs. Should you have any questions regarding any of the above please contact the President of your club.
